Sheila Reade Nabb Fundraiser
Sheila Nabb, originally from Beaver Bank/ Sackville, was brutally attacked at a five star resort in Mazatlan, Mexicao. All of her facial bones have been broken. She has been in a Mexico hospital for a week. Latitude Aeromedical Works flew her back to Calgary on Thursday night. She was still in an induced coma. There will be major expenses involving medical care, travel expenses, living expenses, etc...
She attended school here in Beaver Bank/ Sackville area - Beaver Bank Kinsac Elementary, Harold T. Barrett Junior High, Millwood High School as well as Compu College in Dartmouth. She now lives in Calgary, Alberta with her husband, Andrew.
A fundraising committee has been formed to raise money for Sheila Nabb and her family. They are currently looking for donations from businesses and individuals to establish a silent/live auction with an auctioneer - Mac Ashe. As well as there will be draws, prizes, etc...
A trust fund has been set up with Scotiabank and the account # is 80903 011 461
The fundraiser will take place on February 10th, 2012 starting at 6:00pm at Dooley's, Downsview Mall, Sackville. Jamie and Lisa will be on hand to help emcee the event.

Valentine's Dance
Grab your sweetheart to attend the Valentine's Dance at the Halifax Forum Multi-Purpose Centre on Saturday, February 11th from 9pm to 1am.
There will be a jive contest and 'The Corvette's' will play Rock n' Roll form the 50's and 60's.
Tickets are $12.50 per person and can be purchase from the Forum box office and at the Bank of Nova Scotia located at the bottom of Hammond's Plains Rd/Bedford Highway
All proceeds go to the Cobequid Cultural Society.

The first hour of the evening begins by enjoying succulent pieces of cheeses, paired beautifully with different wines. Each cheese is then transformed into a beautiful dish or hors d'oeuvres, matching the paired wine yet again.
The last part of the evening pairs decadent chocolate with wines, port and dessert wines. Taste the chocolate in it's raw form, paired beautifully with a wine yet again, then tasting the chocolate transformed into a luscious dish or dessert.
All dishes are prepared by the Culinary & Pastry Arts students of NSCC under the tutelage of their Chef Instructors, creating amazing dishes you cannot find anywhere else.

In Support of MADD our LITE safety stickers are a reflective device on the vehicle you can put them on motorcycle helmets, bumpers, trucks, vans, rear windows…one could even get creative and put one on the front of their vehicle - in the spot where the front licence plate used to live.
All you have to do is simply ask the person behind the counter for a LITE sticker and they'll be happy to set you up with one.
